The Endless Winter
Greetings fair readers, of which I probably have only 1 or 2 left at this point due to my very negligent website update schedule! For those who have complained about the endless “Happy New Year” post, this short update is for you. Since I have last posted, many exciting things have happened!! a) I turned 40, b) I celebrated turning 40 in Paris with a host of fabulous friends, c) it has snowed a lot in Hamburg, d) Sophie has grown ever more darling, e) in a moment of particular un-darlingness, Sophie stuck a pea up her nose, which necessitated a visit to not one but TWO Hamburg hospitals, and e) everyone in the entire city of Hamburg got the flu, big time. So, never boring!
I do have many fabulous photos and stories about the Paris trip to post, but for the moment I will share just a flavor of the latest this-and-that. I can assure you that this California girl is experiencing her annual “February blues” as winter drags ever on in Hamburg…

Well at least you know that Soenke is secure in his manhood enough to wear that pink hat (which I believe Brandon wore the same one in your car down here in San Diego)
Sophie is looking ever so cute as always, but where are the pics of Mommy looking stunning at 40? Look forward to your B-day pics

I love the pic of Sophie in the driveway with her cowboy hat! If only we could read her mind in that snapshot.

Sophie is just the cutest kid and I’m pretty impressed by the size of the snowman ‘cos from where i’m standing (nerly on the north pole, that is…) you really don’t have that much snow

Happy Belated Birthday! Or should I still wish you a Happy New Year?!?! Hah.
The weather in Vancouver isn’t much better. It’s cold and “surprise” snow storms keep coming through. They use the word surprise like its a good thing! Surprise! The drive home from visiting Mom and Dad now takes two hours because of snow, ice and closed bridges! Surprise!!
I’m dreaming of California too…
