Our Little Royal Fussbudget
In anticipation of our trip to So Cal next month (think: 11 hours in airplane) , we have been contemplating a baby-airplane-aptitude test in the European skies to get an idea of what we might have to look forward to. It was my brilliant idea to fly somewhere and stay in a castle for a weekend - the logic being a) castles have really thick walls so no one would hear her crying, and b) aren’t princesses supposed to stay in castles?
Since it is tourist high season, I haven’t been able to find a suitable castle in somewhere other than, say, Montenegro that isn’t overflowing with castle-loving Americans. So, we are on to plan B. And there is also the small problem of a passport (we’re working on that).
Sophie, of course, insisted on the royal suite at Neuschwanstein, and was very upset to find it closed to visitors. She tells you all about her feelings about that in the following video:

OMG she is so cute! I cannot wait to see her in person and the proud parents of course.
We arrived in Darmstadt, Friday afternoon after 31 hours… yikes, but I am so relieved THAT part of our trip is over.
I look forward to chatting soon!

There are so many beautiful castles right there in Germany..no passport needed! Fly to Frankfurt and there are tons along the Rhine. There is also a nice one close to Rothenburg o.d. Tauber in Colmberg.
The best one we stayed in was over Salzburg….gorgeous. Man I miss Germany, little Sophie is a lucky princess!!!
